DEADLY ARTS DIGITAL RESOURCE
The Song Room

The Deadly Arts Digital Resource is an innovative suite of online resources focussed on Noongar culture in Western Australia, conceived to help counter the effects of COVID-19 in communities experiencing disadvantage.

We’re very excited to be working on a new project with The Song Room, creating and producing a suite of videos and photography for their ARTS:LIVE digital education platform, as part of their renowned Deadly Arts program.

The project aims to help counter the effects of COVID-19 in communities experiencing disadvantage, and to strengthen and broaden the reach and impact of the Deadly Arts program through the creation of innovative online resources focused on Nyoongar culture in Western Australia. The new curriculum-aligned content has been developed in consultation and collaboration with Nyoongar Artists and The Song Room’s Teaching Artists. 

Production took place in Western Australia in August 2021, with the new resources to be launched before the end of the year.

The Song Room is a fabulous not-for-profit organisation that brightens the futures of Australia’s most disadvantaged children with tailored, high-quality music and arts programs, delivered in partnership with schools across the country.

Believing that every child deserves the best possible start and every opportunity to succeed in life, their programs help students grow in confidence and self-esteem. They also help them stay on task longer, be more willing to have a go and to feel more involved in learning and community.

Through their Deadly Arts program, The Song Room are committed to increasing knowledge and understanding of the histories, cultures and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as First Peoples of Australia.
